 About Us
Letter from the President

Dear NAPM-SD Member,

NAPM-SD has just completed our annual election of affiliate Officers and Directors. Please take a moment and click on the board link on this site to see your new officers and their contact information.

As your new President, I would like to briefly summarize what the next year has in store for our affiliate and also thank you all for your support of our organization.

NAPM-SD is made up of a diverse group of supply management professionals who lead by adhering to high standards of professionalism and integrity and the delivery of competent results within our profession. As our global profession continues to evolve, so must we in our commitment to proactive personal growth and the pursuit of professional knowledge.

The mission of our affiliate is to actively support each of you in your quest. Your Board of Directors will be completing a formal planning process over the four-to-six weeks, which will result in specific priorities for the coming year. However, our overall objectives are and will remain to be as follows:

  • To strive to offer a variety of educational resources to help our members expand their supply management knowledge and personal effectiveness.
  • To promote professional certification as a means to demonstrate supply management knowledge and expertise and to provide members a competitive advantage.
  • To provide our members with individual and team opportunities for personal involvement and to help develop their leadership abilities.
  • To pursue linkages with our collegiate and business communities to encourage our leaders of the future and to promote increased professional opportunities for all our members.

As an affiliate of the Institute for Supply Management, NAPM-SD is currently involved in the process of changing our name to ISM-SD. Outside of the obvious administrative requirements, this process is also a wonderful opportunity for us as an organization to refresh our strategic priorities and revise our business plan for the coming years. I and the rest of your Board of Director’s look forward to sharing more information in the future about our affiliate and various upcoming activities.

Thank you again and best regards,

Michael D. Brown, CPSM, C.P.M.
President NAPM-SD
