The
NAPM-San Diego Collegiate Outreach focuses on these 4 key areas:
-
Internships
-
On-Site Activities
-
Mentoring
-
Student Membership
Internships:
Getting San Diego County university students and companies represented
by membership of their employees in NAPM-San Diego linked pro-actively
to provide student internships is a natural process to offer full
time career opportunities while promoting various services procurement
professions.
On-Site
Activities: A fundamental approach for mutual involvement
and education is to engage in these on-site activities at universities:
-
Sponsoring/attending campus events related to Supply Management
-
Making presentations (joint or individual) at conferences and
to student groups
-
Guest lecturing in classrooms
-
Booths at Career Fairs
-
Recruiting efforts
-
Becoming members of Advisory Councils
Mentoring
Program: The primary mentoring focus is to educate students
about the Supply Chain Management profession in general while
also promoting the NAPM-San Diego organization. NAPM-San Diego
will incorporate traditional mentoring by
establishing and supporting a strong program that is designed
to encourage, promote, and coach full time students. This is accomplished
by pairing up each student member with a member of NAPM-San Diego
who will act as a host at monthly meetings, as a resource when
requested by the student and to expose student to the mentor’s
place of employment and methods of procurement utilized.
Student
Membership: NAPM-San Diego actively attempts to bring
students enrolled in university supply management degree programs
into its activities by informing student organizations and faculty
at universities of the organizations existence and benefits to
student members.
